The most common channel for link surveys. Response rates improve significantly when the first question (e.g., NPS 0–10 scale) is embedded in the email body rather than a bare link. Personalize from a named sender, not noreply.

Slack (to customers or community)

10–25% response rate

Sharing a survey link in a Slack community or customer Slack channel works well for product research and beta feedback. Keep it to 1–3 questions - longer surveys drop off sharply when there is no personal relationship.

Social media (X, LinkedIn)

1–5% response rate

Works for open research questions and audience discovery. Rates are low but the volume can compensate. LinkedIn performs better than X for B2B topics. Avoid asking for anything proprietary - public audiences give surface-level answers.

20–40% response rate
